Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God." - Romans 12:2

INSIDE OUT is about transformation, and it can only start by looking in the heart. As much as you desire to change behavior, it will never stick unless you change the inside. There needs to be a renovation. Before you begin to think about changing the world…or your teammates, first you need to change. Even change as a competitor—on and off the field! You need to surrender and commit. As you become real, God works in you, and then He works through you. Being an INSIDE OUT Christian is about sacrifice, commitment and surrender.

FCA Partnership Camp 2009
FCA and Sports Impact (Hudson Community Chapel) partnership camp was a great success.  Sixty-six campers and eighteen coaches swarmed the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy’s baseball and softball fields.  Thanks to all the volunteer coaches for serving Christ on those blistering days.  The Lord clearly spoke to every camper’s heart.  He spoke loudly to one of the older campers who put his arm around a younger camper and announced to the camp “no one is to pick on Jared anymore this week.”  Jesus commanded us to “love your neighbor as yourself.”

The campers were challenged to play with all their  heart, soul, mind and strength.   On the last day of camp, six young campers raised their hands to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.  PTL!

2008 Youngstown Campers

Twenty-one local athletes returned from FCA summer sports camp just a little more tired than when they left.  Monday morning, June 23rd, these young athletes loaded into two vans and were driven from the FCA office in Boardman to the University of Bluffton for a 4-day camp.  At the college they joined  kids from all over the state to learn more about their sport and to be challenged in their walk with Jesus Christ.

The Steel Valley FCA office raised $5,000 to help scholarship these young people to camp.   Liberty Assembly of God church donated the use of their 15 passenger van to help transport these campers.  In addition, Dolph Carroll and Paul Dunleavy volunteered to drive the 7 hour trek to and from camp.  Four local college kids, Dustin Schenker, April Melquist, Matt Broker and Tasha Reid,  gave up a week of their summer to be Huddle Leaders at camp.  Tasha, who is a YSU athlete and member of the FCA huddle, said the following about camp:

"Camp is an amazing experience, there is nothing in this world or any amount of money that can even compare to what
I've gained from my time as a huddle leader.  Everyone was so supportive of the goal in mind and very encouraging.  It was amazing to see how many of the campers changed in just a few days and the impact that Christ was making in their lives. I was so excited to just be a part of the beginning process for some of the members of my huddle. Slowly the conversations went from what boys are cute in the camp to God and how they are going to make him a part of their lives. Absolutely amazing!"

Thanks to all who helped to make a difference in the lives of these athletes.
