Amy Dunlap named the 2008
 FCA-Colmery Athlete of the Year

Amy Dunlap, a 2008 graduate and Valedictorian of East Liverpool High School (ELHS) has been named the 2008 FCA-Colmery Athlete of the Year.  She has been attending the ELHS FCA huddle for 4 years; serving as Captain for the past 2 years.

Amy is an amazing young lady who didn’t just attend high school—she got involved and made a difference.  She took her God-given talents and used them to impact her school, her friends and  her community.

The Lord blessed Amy with a gift of Leadership and she used it by the following:  President of student senate, President of National Honor Society, Vice President of her class, Vice President of the Booster Club, and Buckeye Girls State delegate, to name a few.  The Lord also blessed Amy with athletic ability and she used that by playing varsity volleyball for 3 years.  She was the Captain her freshman and senior years and a 3-time OHSVCA Scholar Athlete.   Amy was not afraid of hard work and that shows in her academic achievements; the highest being Valedictorian of her class.  She earned 37 hours of college credit as a Post Secondary Education student and was a member of National Honor Society as well as Academic Team.

Amy has been given a musical talent that she has used to bless others.  At school she has had lead roles in seven plays/musicals.  In her community she goes to nursing homes and plays for the residents.  For her future she wants to become a Doctor of Music Therapy and has enrolled at Ohio University to pursue this goal.

To quote from her favorite scripture, Hebrews 12:1-3  There is no doubt that Amy will “run with perseverance the race marked out for” her.  Fixing her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of her faith.

Amy is the daughter of Jim and Belinda Dunlap.  She has one brother Tom who is a Senior at Dennison College.
